My niece is having a baby any day. The daddy is very dark(black skined) and she is very light(white skined). She has a hard time with dry skin anyway. We are scared he may come out the same but were wondering if there was a good lotion to use for his hair and skin?
my friend uses baby oil in her daughters bath && baby lotion in her hair…the father is black && the mother is white so the father said throughout his life he put baby oil on his body for his skin && the fathers mother told my friend to put lotion in her hair to make it soft && not so frizzy.
I use Huggies products (bath and body wash) for Noah. I’ve also used Johnson and Johnson and Aveeno. Your sister will have to try all the different brands and she will find the best one for her babies skin through trial and error. The same applies for diaper rash ointment. I use A&D but there are 20 or so more to choose from in the stores.
caring for mixed skin is no different than if she were full caucasian or full black. Hair that is a different story. Evey baby is different. Try baby oil gel ( much neater and easier than baby oil ) it comes with aloe and vitamin E. Try different lotions. Trial and error no matter the race.
one of my friends had a similer problem. she found if you use the johnsons baby lotion and a little baby oil and rub them together then apply to the skin it smooths and makes the skin not dry. I also tried it and does work, it worked for her and i hope it works for your neice. tell her good luck.
I have three mixed children, one of them had real dry skin. I’ve talked to my pediatrician about it and had “Moisturin” prescribed. This comes in a 1lb jar and is a very thick cream that you just put on sparingly but works wonders. It’s water-in-oil fragrance free so it can be used for face, hands and body.
As for the hair I would use baby oil at first just as you would for a Caucasian child. Later on there are products like “motions for kids” or “just for me” they leave his hair moisturized and soft
